got an old jacket and maybe a helmet (think its cracked though  ) in the garage.... not exactly the latest dirtbike fashions but they will stop you ripping yourself to bits if you were to come off!!

me im in the market my mate got a yamaha yx 125, bloody quick actually, he's ridden for years im finally getting into it... Need some kit as i made a boo boo on tues nite and it fucking hurts still

Ive got a trials bike - and a new one arrivin on monday - a 1996 Gas Gas 250 - and the new ones a 2004 gas gas 280
I bought all my kit (bar helmet) from Swinnertons cycling shop - the downhill mountain biking kits fine - if not better than the crosser kit. look for motorcycle spares/accessories/gear i nthe yellow pages

Simon, i always had the fox no fear gear when i used to race, around £150 for boots, £150 for pants, £50 for jersey etc etc
try some of the companies in the back if DBR dirtbike rider magazine. I used to get all mine through my local yamaha dealer!
Also try get some pro taper bars for the yz, makes hell of a difference!
if you want cheap kit 2nd hand try trials and motocross news or the free ads if you have that local?
Also make sure you get decent bodyarmour and kidney protector! I learnt by buying shit wulfsport stuff and dislocated a shoulder!

My little bor still races motocross
gets all his stuff from ron humphreys motocross they have a huge range of stock ranging form cheap stuff all the way up to full pro gear.
Its prob an hour or so from you but can sort a phone number and directions if you want matey!

yeh i used to get all my plastics and garphics from racespec!
problem with mx is that its soo loud and most locals complain, thats y i quit as the local 3 tracks shut down or went to 1 day a month meetings!

I used to race for South East Anglia, my brand new kx100 also got stolen
