best off putting it on in a small layer as it expands between 2 and 20 times depending upon brand
it will take 24 hours to set usually, the outside forms askin after an hour but inside is still mushy
i use it everyday to make things on my car that require a 3d shape
used by builder to fill holes, etc etc even use it to fit windows in houses
try filling your mates lock with it - PMSL brilliant stuff
