Killed the midbox and although it sounded great it couldn't stay like that. BAT were able to throw one on while I waited yesterday and it sounds far better now. Quieter, but a bit smoother! Doesn't bog as much lower revs like it did do. Might be phsychological that
Its ticking a bit and needed oil so I topped it up but it didn't cure it. Might have to start looking for a valver

I'll see if I can fix this ticking first Adam, might be the cheaper option. Did you have a price in mind btw?

I loved that car when I saw it up for sale, very clean with a shit load of history to go with it, all it needs is a valver to finish it off

ian - thats mint as i'd love a robin hood, amazing cars, although i was quoted 2k for a 1.6 pinto robin hood Wouldnt have been the fastest thing on the planet, but would have shifted something At the mo trying to get me old man to buy the cossie engined kit on ebay, with nos (i know its cheating but hey) that pushing 300+ horses..i wouldnt get insured, but atleast i could drive it around out on the driveway..just for the Tssshhhhh
JR - oooo that looks good although it reminds of an episode of top gear when Jezza borrowed someone rear-engined min that was pushing out 500 brake...and he was wearing ear protectors

Ian, Does the tapping get quicker as the revs build?
If so it could be noisy lifters. You need to do an engine flush followed by an oil change. I had this problem on my x16xe and doing the above solved it.

Yeah its directly related to revs. I am going to investigate further before doing anything drastic
