We had him for nearly 20 years but he was a few years old when we had him. His name was Charlie.
He had been acting a little strange since the end of April but put it down to stress of moving house. He was eating fine and whistling away all day.
My sis found him lying on the bottom of his cage making strange noises and convulsing and they didnt think he would last the night but he was the same in the morning so they took him to the vet who said he didnt really know what was wrong with him but said he was quite poorly so my mum had him put down 
The house is so quiet without him now

20yrs  , he had a good life then, I know that they have a life expectancy of a human but didnt really believe it

I thought he would live to see 30 maybe but i guess i just didnt know....
Im hoping to get another but they have such individual personalities that the next one will be really different.

Yeah im gonna get another i think. the one i had didnt really talk but it imitated almost every sound it hear, phones, alarms, coughs, even farts!
If i get another its gonna have to be a talker

I had my previous parrot for 13 years, one day I found him lying down and moving his wings, he seemed very very exhausted and weak. I took him in my hands (he was so weak that he couldn't react, when he was healthy he wouldn't let you take him in ur hands) and after 5 minutes he died in my hands... I strongly believe he was expecting that to die...
