Well in many peoples opinions, the C16 is the best engine vauxhall ever designed and made. what other 1.6 unit can get 250bhp reliably without forced induction thats a 15 year old design?

They may look the same but the internals are actually totally different to an XE, cams pistons valves etc all different.
They used the XE as a starting block to make the LET but then they found out the everything internally needed changing to cope.
