its done 94k and when you first put you foot down it blows a little bit of blue smoke out what is this a sign of and is it anything to worry about. also what other things do i need to check on it the engine seems to run fine but is a little tappety.
any info on these cars would be great.

rite... blue smoke is burning oil, never good, could be rings or stem seals, i'm assuming its the 16v lump in there... change the oil and filter see if its any quieter. Mine sounds awfull at the mo coz the water pump is about to explode. But ive got a fresh engine on standby

its probably the piston rings burning the oil, i had this on my car until they got replaced was awful, in 1st gear at about 5000rpm was pouring out smoke

TBH i wouldnt have bought a car that was smoking, but if ya mechanically minded and good with engines ya could do the rings ya self for next to nothing

i only paid 375 quid for it, its only doing it a bit when you first put your foot down so i will just have to see how it goes

no it might not be 8v, trust me... some 94's are 16v

tis true some early ones were 16v
blue smoke oil burning you sure its blue? does it smell of oil? could be white and burning coolent

no it looks blue to me it only does it when you really boot it i will just keep an eye on the oil level, its 16v same as my mates. just one questiuon mine has sunroof electric mirrors and windows and power steering should it have because my mates sport has the above but no power steering thats n reg and my mates m reg sri dosent have power steering or electric mirrors windows or a sunroof.

It a 16v, 8v's were only made for about a year 93' to 94', I havnt got PAS but who needs it on a Corsa? suposed to have more feedback with out anyway! My SRi 8v has leccy windows, mirrors and a sunroof, all were optional the the time, it also has or will be gettin heated seat in standard trim and a electric sunroof when I get the chance to fit the stuff!
