The other night I filled the tank with optimax and set off out, Fifty miles later set of from some traffic lights and thought i had stalled it but it wouldn't fire back up, jumped out popped the bonnet and one of the plug leads was hanging off. Anyway plug lead back but no start. recovery came and said it was a possible ecu fault, got the car home now but still won't run, the best it will do it idle for about 6 - 8 seconds at about 200 rpm before cutting out putting thottle on just makes it cut out sooner.
please help

Fuel Starvation? Could be a problem with the fuel pump.

Don't know what ignition system you've got. My old 1.4 8v had a black box at the end of the camshaft (where the distributor would normally be). This ignition module fires a spark to two plugs at one despite only one cylinder being ready to fire. So, if you had no spark to two plugs it could possibly be this module at fault.
