you on about vents?
if so...
take vents out,
prime,
spray,
dry,
spray.
don't spray too much that mechanism jams.

your best bet is to buy a tin of a silver you like and a tin of clear laquer from somewhere like halfords. you do not mix paint and laquer. the paint is the colour, which you put on 1st. the clear laquer gives it a shine, and provides a tough top coat, as metalic base coats never harden.

get a bodyshop to do it IMO, be a better finish and might not cost as much as you think, when i had my bits done it cost the total of about 4 tins of paint for the full job to be done including prep and fitting.
