where is the starter motor on a 1.4 16v sport corsa b and how much do they cost to buy new ones?

also anyone ever changed one as i think i may need to

They are located behind the engine, and down by the gearbox/flywheel. There is two bolts which hold it on and two for the wires i think, or maybe one for the wire...

You'll need access from under the car.

well what happens is that when i turn they key the car just does a single click sound and then nufin

i wasnt able to jump start it but was able to bump start it

have taken battery out to charge but the charger is already showing that its full

is this the starter motor? could also be the solenoid?

check your battery connections are gud my old nova had the same problem and it was a bad connection. do your lights radio work? the clicking i beleive is the solenoid working

well the battery has been charged in my house and now the car starts, just have to wait and see if it holds the charge though, might be battery - i hate my car

if you tap the starter with a hammer it can sometimes un-jamm it and will then engage properly.

dunno if it'll work, but probably worth a try before you buy a new one.

dont be scared too hit it tho. it wont do damage too it but not too hard u dont dint the casing.

ok, didnt do it for few days but wudnt start this morning, rolled car off drive so mate cud get off, then later it started first time!

im goin under now to try and find the starter motor

cheers adam d, ill see if i can find the prob, mate bringing multi meter round later so can check if alternator is charging

anyone got a piccy of a starter motor?

battery is fine, 12.5 volts when not running and alternator is fine 14.5 volts when idling

ok can see piccy but am having serious issues finding it! havent got my ramps at my house so hard to get under, am i right in thinkin its on the right hand side as u look under the bonnet?

I got one for 20 quid from a scrappy... was a bugger to fit too... nightmare tryin to get the top bolt on as u cant see what ur doin...
