When i was at beardys fitting the nitrous we took off the induction kit...and i noticied that the induction kit [powertec sl1x] had been resting on the rubber engine mount. It has caused a small 1.5 cm SLIT down the filter. It goes right through.
Now ive adjusted how the induction kit sits now so its no longer rubbing and temporarily covered the hole with electric tape. Now my question is this...do you think there has been any damage to the engine...or have i caught it early? Secondly can i put silicon/cover it with something to fix the problem? Like using super glue and tin foil?
Any suggestions appricieted. I cannot put the old air box back on because im using the induction mounting brackets to mount the solenoids on for the nitrous.
Many thanks.

You would notice if something had been sucked into the engine...

Either way, it's too late to worry about now.
If you decide to repair the filter, just make sure whatever you use isn't going to get sucked in on full throttle.
As an example, consider the sock Ojc used on his X16XE ....

I guess your right to late to do anything now. Im thinking of using some rubber linning....like a puncture repair kit rubber plaster with some super glue...just to stop shit getting in there.
Thanks for ur help guys...mucho appriciated.
