can anyone tell me if there is any benefits to be had from having drilled brake discs?

I've got a BMW 328i Convertible, and the front discs need changing, they are vented discs as standard, but im thinking of upgrading the front ones to Brembo Drilled & Vented discs.

can anyone tell me if there is any benefits to drilled discs?

will aid in heat dissipation and stop discs glazing over when used too much, also better at removing water from disc face. Down side, prone to cracking if you get cheap crap, personally i would recommend grooved discs instead.
