thats the length from the bud at the rear to the fangs at the front. The fangs are amongst the most powerful in the spider world, and can easily chomp through a fingernail or other dense material.

not personally, luckily they are very shy spiders so they try to keep away from human activity, but the males go walkabout in the summer looking for a mate, and wander into garages and houses in heavy rain. has caused quite a few deaths in sydney, but antivenom is very effective and no one has died who has managed to get the antivenom.
