The crx del sol if its vtec will whoop the fench items, if not the weight of it will probably see the tin cans in front!
As for the vtec argument did nobody grasp the fact that no other manufacturer have produced a 160bhp 1.6 engine out of the box!
Yes they can all be tuned, but thats like saying a nova is as quick as a ferrari if you bolt a jet engine to the roof.
Muppets!
But you give, say an X16XE the same rev limit, and similar inlet dimensions and you have the same. Wheres your argument now? The fact that the 16XE made 150BHP when being designed puts those facts to rest. you abnoxious prick
That would be great if vauxhall had released it at 150BHP as they didnt you have no argument.
Yes you could tune it but you could spend the same on the vtec and it would still be in front!

In what way is this crap? The engine was de tuned as it wasnt deemed sensible to have a 1.6 as powerful as the flagship 150bhp 2.0 16v. Hence why the inlet manifold is so restrictive, to strangle the car of power.
If you already knew this i fail to see how it is funny?

Who gives a flying f*** what its capable of?? it came out of the factory at 109bhp....
ive read articles of the b16a engine pushing out over 200bhp n/a so how does that compare to the 150bhp??
comparisons should be made standard to standard not tuned to standard

In that case the vauxhall engine is shite and should never have being put into production

I used the 200bhp to try and make a point that theres always guna be a more powerful engine.
at the end of the day the corsa gsi is being compared with the crx del sol, i'd like to add my opinion and standard for standard the crx is in a whole different league imo of course

i think the jist of the replys in here are that the vaux 1.6 engine can make the same power with modification
it may have been detuned, but it's still not 160+bhp Standard.
modification yes, easyly,
people are trying to get the point across that the b16a2 makes 168 BHP standard and without modification

ric, you speak wisely . My side of the argument was, just because the CRX engine had 160bhp as standard, doesnt make it an amazing engine. Just a good engine, just like the 16XE.
