I am trying to wire some leds up to my brake lights, the leds are designed for the cig lighter so are 12v. They have a positive wire and a neg going to them. How can i wire them so they light up when the brakes do?

find the + on one of the brake light bulbs
follow the board upto a the wire
cut into the wire and join to the + on the leds and earth the neg
but corsas are fussy if you start pissing aboutwith the lights at the back
mainly to do with fitting the wrong bulb but it could happen

right to wire up a 3rd brake light i connect the - negitive to an earth point and the + to the wire goin to the bulb, i have had no problems at all doin it this way.

i did this and it blew the led? you dont know what colour the wire you connect it to is by any chance do you?

You were running too much current through the LED - was it a 12v LED? Did you use an inline fuse?

no i didnt use a fuse! i was just testing to see if it worked, yes it is a 12v led, its one of the ones you get free with redline this month! i was experimenting.
So is there a way to do it without blowing the led up?

The best way reall to check from an electrical connection is using a multimeter... Don't piss around with LEDs...

yes i connect it the right way round, the led came on for a sec then went off never to light up again

Too much current for the LED then... Yes it works, but you will need to fit a resistor in if you just want to run 1 LED...

The one from Redline are not 12volts there to 5volts in a series. Mine did the same thing when I split the two, but it eaisy to replace the leds, just pull the black thing out the back mate.
