i got a 1.2 16v ecotech.. the engine management lite now cum on sumtimes, and at idle the revs go high, like 1500 revs.. i give it a wee blip and it goes back to normal, and light goes off./.. ne1 no what might be causeing this... plz guys.. help urgently needed

It sounds like an ICV to me (idle control valve).
Do the paper clip test and see what it comes out, but i t will probably be this...

whats the paper clip test? my m8 said it mite just be the idle control valve sticking??

The paper clip test is a method to see the fault code of the engine management without haveing to take the car to a vauxhall dealer

If it's the icv, u can have it cleaned, maybe this will help, orelse u'll have to change it
