Topping up with your credit card isn't automatic, you topup when you want to.

Well my balance was -£0.10, then I topped up on the phone using my Visa card and my balance was £9.89, so later this morning I phoned up O2 Customer Care (cost me about £4 that call!), they said it's because I tried a few times to connect by WAP and it wouldn't go through, and I was being charged 23p or something each time... So they said they'd refund the £5+ back to my phone ASAP...

do they offer free 300 texts a month + the credit for 10 pounds a month?

but yesh, for a contract there good, but for PAYG virgin beats any other network hands down, especially considering their prices are bloody low - but then again you choose the network your own because it suits you etc
