got myself another 2.0 16v as the other one is temporarily broken, on the new one the gearbox is already detached from the engine.
Would it be easier to leave the old gearbox in the car and just drop whats left of the block or drop everything and re-attatch the new engine to its box and lift the whole thing in that way?
Im going in from underneath and im trying to do it without a crane.

if yer gonna leave the other gearbox in the car take the engine out from the top... that way u dont have to disturb the shafts and suspension.
if yer droping it out the bottom just drop it as one whole piece and reinstall it as one whole piece.
either way it gonna be a balls without an engine crane...
y dont ya just rent one out... they only cost like 10-15 quid a day.....
