ok whats the best tyres to get performance wise? got pirelli p600 at the mo and are pretty shite. want some proper top tyres. some brands i know have there own budget tyres but specifically wanna find out the top range.

im pretty sure they do have rim protection. And yeah they are really good tyres. Pirelli P Zero Assimetrico are good too

my pirelli p600 have no rim protection so my rims are fucked. gonna get em refurbed and slap some goodyears on i think.

Michelin pilot have the rim protection. I'm getting these for my VTR alloys. There quite expensive but i think worth every penny considering they are the main thing holding you to the road

i have heard that pirelli p zero neros are good, as are the new yoko parada spec 2..

tyre sticks out further than the rim, so if u hit a kerb, the tyre takes the impact not the alloy

I've got Zero Neros on the Corsa and Parada 2 on the Astra.
The Pirellis are very confident in the wet, nice in the dry, low noise at speed, good all round tyre. The Yokos are terrible in the wet, noisy, wear too fast and have a well round shoulder so forget rim protection. Having said that they're outstanding in the dry and the shoulder helps if you've not much room...
