How do you adjust the hand brake cable on an astra 2000 model i looked under the car but the cable goes behind the heat sheild for the cat. does anyone know how to adjust it?

dont know if it will help, but have u tried looking on the rear axle beam for an adjuster? or maybe u adjust it from in the car by removing the boot around the handbrake cable. On a golf gti i had it had rear discs and the handbrake was adjusted on the rear calipers.Sorry i cant give u specific help but it might give u an idea where to look.
