i've done the diagnostics though cos me ecu lights on and the secondary air pump comes up as a fault(probably cos 1s not connected). i just wanna get rid of all the fault codes and get the engine running properly. Wtf does it actually do anyway?

its only supposed to come on when you 1st start the engine. As i understand it, it blows cold air into the cat when you first start the engine so as to make your engine warm up quicker by causing it to do something or other that i cant remember! LOL thus becomeing more efficient and creating less emmissions a lot quicker. A lot of people remove it though thats why i said about you not needing one. they were unreliable in my experience anyway i had 2 go on me didnt bother replacing it the second time even second hand they £30-40 a pop and 99% of the time you dont use it and 100% of the time you dont actually need it to run the engine with no problems
