well ive phoned AA, so see what they say, but surely if the imob is cutting the fuel pump then that wud show as a fault on the vaux system?

nope. The fuel pump circuit is unmonitored by the ECU. Its triggered by an ignition live.
AA are just gonna charge u a bomb mate to sort it oot.

when you need to do something like that, you only need to replace the chips and ECU. The sender around the ignition barrel isnt coded, unless it is the sender at fault.

would it be possible to bypass? i.e run 12v to fuel pump?
or does it cut the ignition side of it aswell?
oh where are the days of carbs gone

Like i said the ECU has no control over the fuel pump, its done by an ignition live. The fuel pump kicks in when uve turned the key to on, without even starting the car.
The ECU shuts off the injectors and the spark

pretty effective the vaux system
im guessing his is a 16v looking at his user so id get a ecu chip and transponder from a similar engine "borrow one" to see if it fires up.
then its a case of sourcing a new one pernametly

nah he aint got remote start i dont think.
Mark is goin to his to either take dash out and start again and also bypassing the puel pump giving it a perminant live as its that whats cutting off wirth a go this morning - shame im workin this mornin or i would be over helping again

I very much doubt this has anything to do with the fuel pump. The fuel pump does not cause the engine management light to flash, as its circuit is cut by the aftermarket alarm. All it does is cut the feed to the red/blue wire. The ECU doesnt monitor it

If the light is flashing at 1 second intervals then it means the ECU has shut down and the engine wont run, due to an immobilizer problem or major ECU fault. Im off out to my corsa now to see what i can do to replicate the fault.
I hope everyone checked for continuity on the wires to the code sender around the barrel? Only takes a small tug, they are thin wires..

u2u sent mate.
the fuel pump is cutting off though altho like you said cant see that making the engine management light flash. Surely its worth bypassing for a go, if it breaks down then the AA can take him to the show

How is the fuel pump cutting off?? If ur doing it just by listening to the pump, when u turn the ignition it only runs for a few seconds, thats totally normal

The AA guys know fuck all. When my car broke down in bournemouth they said my gearbox was totally fucked and that were it. When i got home, it just needed oil and it went fine for ages
3 months later it went bang though
