i raced a couple ctr's with the f16 box and 20xe. was keepng with him til bout 120, then i went into 5th, he started pulling away from me, i got to 130ish and he'd pulled about 75yards away. Raced some with the f20 and let running 4psi and beat them.

technically the CTR would be quicker, but ive had a little race with one and was enough to suprise him! I think they are 197bhp standard, and pretty good handling

And also much less torque than a 20XE. So under acceleration when torque counts th ecrosa should eb quicker, but then at top end when power counts the CTR would go faster.
I'd rather have the 20XE cause of the torque it produces over most other 2L engines.

From a rolling start i have always beaten type R's as I dont have to rev the shit out of mine to get torque...but as somone validly said its also close and down to driver. I've not had probs with them and have always managed to piss them off
As for LET corsas they destroy CTRs even strugling for traction. Corb absolutely destroyed two CTRs on the way to the pod..i mean he tore them a new arsehole
altho CTR's are a different league of car to a corsa

rover turbos run 7-13psi controlled by the ECU wen they are fucked run a constant 7psi
my mate raced his dads rover 600TI in his C20XE corsa was a good race until 125mph then the rover took over

i've raced a ctr in my astra, beat it, raced 2.0 novas, beat one, one pulled away a bit, but to be honest all 3 (ctr's, gsi's, and xe's) are all pretty similar.

agreed ....the one and only time ive seen 1/4 miles racing i didnt see one honda... and there was itr's and ctrs there.... run a below 15sec 1/4 mile.
the xe'd corsa that was there (the only one in ireland) ran a 14.2.......
in the real world though were roads arnt straight i'd have put my money on a ctr.
