Im building a new gearbox for 1.4 16v nova with 90% TRANX LSD and 4.53 CWP. Does anyone know any major differences between the F13/15 boxes as to which one I should use and why.

The F15 doesn't have a clutch inspection plate on the housing, which the F13 does.
The ratios for 1st and 2nd are longer on the F13CR box, but 3rd 4th and 5th are the same on both boxes.
Personally I prefer the F13CR as the revs drop between 2nd and 3rd is smaller, so you get better accel to the top of third.
The bearings are the same and the housing interchangable.

F13 can take 130 lb/ft of torque and the F15 can take 150 lb/ft... Thats the official figure, but you can usually get away with running slightly more power through them than that. The coice is yours

Cheers for that, does anyone know how to work out what speed you get for what gear ratios you use, or a link to a site.

rpm/60 x gear ratio / final ratio x wheel diamter x 3.6 / 1.6 = mph
The bearings are the same in both gearbox's so I don't see how they can suddenly take more torque
anyways, it's Nm not Lbs, otherwise why does a std 20XE kill a F15??
