its also much safer cause you dont have oxygen mixed in with your tyres (ie oxygen being explosive) as you would if you just used air, we use to top up aircraft tyres at work its the specified gas for aircraft tyres. Obviously this is more important on aicraft due to high pressures and speeds etc but non the less its same principle for cars

You have a leak... Your tyres are always leaking, but as it is such a minute ammount you won't notice for a very ling time.

Reading that article and it says they can get it upto 93% nitrogen.... the normal stuff is 78% anyway, so there really is no point to it imo .

No it doesn't. And oxygen is very explosive. Only about 20 somethin % of the air is oxygen.

as x8 john said no it doesnt mate! There is more nitrogen than oxygen in the air anyway otherwise the air would be explosive. If i remember correctly from when i was training, think it 78% nitrogen a few % other gases and 18 or something % oxygen. Oxygen is very explosive we are supposed to have separate tools for when we work on oxy systems so we dont get grease on the unions or anything because even that could coarse an explosion and you have to top oxy bottles up very slowly to avoid heat and an explosion. Dangerous stuff if you dont know what you doing!
