Theres a thing called an i trip that you can get to link your i pod up to a stereo but ive heard that these are illegal. anyone know where you can get them as my dads getting an i pod for xmas and thought this would be prety cool, but alo why are they illegal?

yup, there illegal in the UK because they are basically an FM transmitter that broadcasts on licenced freqs. Best bet is to get them on ebay, but be warned if you get caught you might get fucked over with it - so i would recommend a car kit for the ipod if hes gonna use it in his car etc

car kit just basically has the same FM transmitter built into it. plus a stand for ipod and cig. lighter charger.

just get the i trip. fits perfectly on top of ipod. and is nice and small. plus its cheaper than car kit.

then u can just hide ur ipod in glove box out of view of pikeys!

depends on what radio he has for the car etc If his HU has an AUX in, then get an adaptor for the HU and plug the ipod through that If he has something like an Alpine unit then on SOME of the alpine HUs you can get an ipod kit that allows your to control the ipod from the HU itself

Otherwise you use a tape kit, or buy one of those i trip things from the states, but just be warned though

had a peek at the alpine gear, isnt too bad, the unit is £60 and plugs into the CD changer port

he has the standard single slot cd player for a jaguar x type. how would i find if it could take an ipod thing-amy-jigger?
