If you have central locking then the flap locks shut with a solenoid, so you wouldn't need to lock the cap inside the flap.

err but theres no solinoid biult onto the locking petrol cap???????

Lock your car and try and open the flap.

There is a solenoid that fires a pin out from the left of the flap when looking from outside, through the hole in the catch, locking the flap.

If in doubt, go and have a look!

i see..... the cover flap? i thought the ad on ebay meant the actual item they sell locks itself! .....

Of course it doesn't

Reading it again though, he does basically say you won't need the key to lock the cap.

That'd be a nifty bit of engineering if that were the case.
