hi,
i have just replaced my sump gasket on my valver corsa, which i thought was the main cause of the oil leak.
sadly not
it now appears to be coming from just above the oil filter.
i have taken the oil filter off and put it back on to see if it wasnt on properly - still no joy.
is it the oil pump that it is connected to?
if so, i think it may be a gasket between the block and the oil pump.
the only problem is, how on earth do you get it off!?
any help would be great

you have to remove the sump, all the timing covers, and the toothed bottom pulley, remove the oil cooler pipes and unbolt the pump and it should come off. fairly time consuming job. have a new set of sump gaskets, new oil pump gasket and a new front oil pump seal, and you may aswel put a new timing belt on it while you have it stripped.

could it be the sandwich plate not making a proper seal?

Clean it all off properly and see where its coming from before you strip it.
Have a look around the back and make sure its not the oil pressure sensor or the pressure relief valve.
