Once I get the car serviced (and the filter changed obviously), gonna have to get the bottom of the block cleaned - it's all soaked in oil.

Must have been like that for ages, as it looked oily when I bought the car...

It's not my fault the previous owner didn't do anything to it.

I think I've spent at least £500 so far 'fixing' that car in the short period of time I've had it. Be worth it in the end though I think.

I've used like half a litre of 10W40 in the past 3 weeks so far...

Thing is though, if that part has been fitted by a Vauxhall dealer (it's a Vauxhall filter), why is it leaking? I remember the previous owner saying it was serviced in January (04). Maybe it wasn't fitted properly?

Take it back to the vauxhall garage and bollock them for shoddy work man ship.

Can't really as it was serviced by them by the previous owner.

Oh well it doesn't really matter now anyway as it's going to be serviced next month.
