anyone ever done it?
Been down to scrappy today and taken out a 1.2 8v from a corsa. My and my mate had never done it before, taken us about 4 hours to do.Found it pretty easy taking it out.cost me £90, engine had done 62k
I dont know if to pay £150 and get it fitted, or attempt to fit it myself over the next few days starting tommrorow?

i recently got a full car for 150 tax and mot'd, its easy mate as long as u have a means of lifting the engine in and as u have just took one out u will have an idea of what needs doing but obviously in reverse

I pray to god tht i dont cock this up

yeah, trust me, hire a crane. its easier, aspecially when you have to move the engine around inside the engine bay so the engine mount holes line up. pluss its safer.
i got the engine crane for £35 delivered. suppost to have it from 12 noon, till 12 noon the next day, but they still havent picked it up. lol

as ian said get a crane.... safer and will save you time messing around....
should take a day to get the engine in and working and probably 2-3 days of driving to iron out any faults...
simple though...

me and a couple of mates swapped a 1.0 ax engine for a 1.4 GT engine ourselfs, bit of a pain in the bum as some bits like hoses on radiator didnt match but in the end it work and fucking hell it was fast!!! just reaaaally dangerous as it was made out of tin foil and brakes didn't work too great.
plus we didn't use engine lift, we used a diesel forklift truck lmao, health and safety is for fools

What would you suggest to buy/hire to swap an engine safely and efficiently? I'm planning of a C/X14XE swap for my 1.4 spi Opel Corsa.
