Okay, When i bought my pug 206Gti i got out a loan, so i bought the car (whilst still having the corsa) then sold the corsa so i always had a motor.

Well wanting to get a new motor i dont know whether to get the sware words to work (p**lic tr***port) which wont be easy as its about 23 miles away and not easily acessable. Or buy a cheap shitter of a nova/fezza etc to run around in while looking for a motor - im thinking the second as by the time i have been fed up of the shitter a newer car will feel amazing!

Any suggestions...

get to an auction, buy the best you can for as little as you can.....

Make sure it has tax/test and then you can just sell it on for a profit, or bin it

I did this with a panda bought it for 100 from a granny that died, and then gave it to some bint when i was done with it.... it was ace , brilliant car

Find another car while advertising your own, then arrange for the old one to be collected on the same weekend that you pick up the new one?

Wow, wasn't expecting so many replies, Ians and Adams ideas are good. The thing is i don't want to be part ex'ing my car as garages rip ppl off, plus their cars are overpriced anyway.

yes, and no, my last car was from a garage, i got a 6 month warranty which i did actually use on my X reg Gti, for them to change parts of the exhaust and accessory belt, but some garages can take the piss. part e/x's usually take the piss, judging a car on the book price and not on individual merit
