Author Problem with my engine - please advise

have w reg 1400 sport. With pipercross and back box.

Just come off motorway and engine cut out.

On dash the battery light, engine management light and oil light came on.

Car wouldn't re start for about 2 minutes.

Finally got it re started but it cuts out and same lights come on if drop below 3k rpm.

Very "spluttery" when running, I am gonna leave it over night and check the oil and try again.

Please give advice, have heard about paperclip test - could you explain this to me (I am not good with engines)

sounds to me mate like you've blown the engine, have you been driving fast in it latley.

a load of lads have had that problem on here.

No, doing about 75 on the M56 like almost every day, so nothing new in driving habits.

maybe thats worn it out, the speed limit is 70 for a reason,

Check your ecotec unit maybe?

This fucked up good and proper on my 1400 sport.

check the vaume pipes thats what mine did for a while and it was becouse a pipe was leaking vacume see if you can here a loud hissing noise
