depends how often you play them etc etc

tbh, i go by a general rule of thumb for all speakers (hifi, studio monitors, car speakers etc etc) and that is about a month and two months to be fully settled in <- thats with the speaker being played for an hour or two a day

If you buy subs, then use them straight away on full blast, it damages them

The idea is to gradually build up the volume and wear them in

even though you should really do this with ever sub, the rubber surround subs are the ones that it really matters...as like ally said, you have to wear them in.

But also with rubber surround subs, you should also not wack them up full when its colds as it will causes the rubber to split - so you gradually turn up your volume on cold mornings/days
