Simple answer yes....
Easy to set up a small file server to save all documents, downloads, porn & music etc... depends what programs you want to run from the 1 machine though? as to whether you can do it or not....
though your studying IT at uni? so you should already know this?

Are they already networked?
Can they already see each other?
Is it on all the time?
Why do you have 5 anyway?

They can be networked through a wireless router i have.
I have 2 laptops and 3 desktops. One of the desktops is going because i need the space although i've been looking at a bigger place today Don't think that is gonna hap though as i haven't really got the time. One desktop and one laptop is used to mess around with stuff on. I have desktop computer back at home (also connects to the wireless router, it's only next door) and one laptop and one desktop here is the flat which i do all my uni work etc on.
I'm doing Information Systems at uni so it's more theory based
