The earth wire is quite small, so behind the headunit would be ideal, i cant seem to see ANY screws anywhere tho Do i dril something Bit of a tight fit to do so

Easiest thing to do is to solder it onto the casing mate Or take the metal casing off, drill through it and mount a small bolt etc etc

i earth mine to passenger side sill, easy to run the wire and gives a good earth

Can't you connect something to it to extend the length, i'd imagine just soldering another wire on the end of it would be fine if you wanted somewhere else.
Don't trust me though, it might break stuff, or i could be speaking complete bollox

If you remove the large black gear surround, there is a small support strut about 15cm long with a screw either end. Clean this up and put a ring terminal on the cable, and screw through it, and there's your earth, and its short
