Hey,
Does anyone know why the Corsa C does not give a really nice loud raw/rumble with an induction kit like the Corsa B does? Instead the C gives of a very weak roar. My mates B's give a really mean loud rumble. All help would be great.

Are the Corsa C engines made by Fiat now? Totally different engine in the Corsa C Than the same size engine in a B?

All really. I have a 1.2 SXi C, and my mates have a 1.2 SXi, 1.4 SRi 8v and 1.4 SRi 16v Corsa B's. And all the B's give a really raspy mean rumble.

Filby, AFAIK, the only engines that resemble between B and C's are the 1.0 12v unit and 1.2 16v(not sure about dervs). All other engines are of a new design, that means the 1.4/1.8 16v original/twinport

Your 1.2 was given a slight revision change and has increased power over the 1.2 16v from the B, not sure about the 1.4 8v, but the X14XE unit had an inlet plenum which allowed it to resonate quite well when extra air was sucked in. Not sure about the manifold/plenum on the SXi C

My old 1.2 'B' didn't sound bigger than it really was. Just sounded like a small engine making far too much noise and not going anywhere

Tim, this is the way of the Corsa, Don't diss it, or Ian with his NW crew will bash you

Ive been told its because the Z engines are fly by wire, the air flow meter (AFM) is situated on the intake pipe. There is plastic mesh in the AFM which prevents debris but this causes the engine not to suck hard or roar. B's use the X and some C coded engines which are of different spec. Even with a BFO cone or large filters on Corsa C's, they will never sound as good compared to the B's
