driving my car tonight and it started to splutter in 3rd gear upwards when i boot it. plugs seem ok, any ideas on problem?

could it be clogged air filter? injectors?

nope, just when i floor it. only does it in 3rd.4th/5th

any oil leaking from ur motor, i had this kinda problem i always use to get a splutter from 1st gear, was quite scary when pulling off a roundabouts and it slows and then jumps off

had this with my gsi, never found out what it was, but my car stunk of fuel had a leaking tank so i assumed it was that, then i flogged it

fuel filter is fine, head gasket is ok. only thing i can think of is injectors or induction kit???

it's only doing it under hard load then. any particular rev range or just when your at wide open throttle

just me in car about 2krpm and i put my foot nearly to the floor it will start to acceelerate then splutter then accelerate fine after about 4krpm

mainkly does it under normal load between 2and 4krpm in 3rd 4th and 5th gear

if it does it under load id say its the ignition system....... try a new coil pack....
