Well put Adam! and Andy - be prepared for a massive hike in your insurance premium, even if it is a fake cage

speak to lee cairns, his cages are mirror finish stainless and for those of you that think that dangerous there not.
A friend of mine spankee had a serious crash in his old courtenay C20LET astra, the cage pretty much saved his life, and he then cut the roof off and put the cage into his last astra. this one :
thats the same design cage i have in my car as well.
The dimma ones i really dont like and i beleive that mps have gone bust.
So id highly reccomend fusion, lee does whatever you want, you pay him by the job and you design mounting points etc, also i would like to add that i felt the difference when i fitted the cage as the whole car felt much stiffer

which is what I was trying to give you. Take a look at my car and you'll see why I know a little bit about massive insurance premium hikes and roll cages (that's if you can get it insured at all)

persoanlly i think youre all being harsh on andy, he asked about custom cages.
I agree chrome cages that are just for looks are crap and will kill you, I couldnt afford something like the fearless motorsport cage found in brett warburtons nova, surely thats not just for looks it is?
Mine was done for both and i certainly didnt want a safety devices cage as didnt want to strip the whole interior!
So andy all i say is get a good well made custom cage that does both functions like mine over a dimma anyday!

if its made from ally it does have a slight potential to split in a crash, if its made from steel tube then thats less likely. For ultimate in saftey you will want a solid steel one.
The idea of an aluminum one splittin g and hurting you in the event of crash is possible but its just as possible the roof of the car will do this and do exactly the same thing or the door or the A,B,C pillar so all in all load of crap!
If you are doing track days get a proper one if not get one that is made from steel if you have the pound notes or go for complete looks with an aluminum one.
Its not rocket science is it!

I had a Fearless cage in my old corsa. only downside was that it was designed for a Nova so it sat about an inch from the roof of the car! Other that that it was spot on!!!
