right im lookin to go on my own insurance now.

ive had a 1.2 ls for just over a year now whilest learning to drive. was going to get a sport n stay on parents insurance but i might aswell go on my own if poss. so im not guna b able to get a sport now but nm.. that will come . i do want to get sumthin faster tho so i was thinking abt a 1.4ls - just for that bit extra.

problem is the best quote ive had is 1.6k from tesco. n e 1 no other cheap places? ive been told sum do discount for students?

to be honest, unless its an MPI 1.4 then there's no point paying the extra, as there's not much difference between the 1.4 8v SPI and the 1.2 8v really....

both 1.2 and 1.4 ls r spi only differs is 200cc - n if 200cc means shit then wots the point in havin biger engins?

Really i would only bother upgrading if you can afford to insure a 1.4 16v sport.

At 18 im sure you could easily i am 17 with no no claims and have the sport as my first car insured with liverpool victoria for £1650.

You should do what I did, go on confused.com or another site that searches through loads for you & see what comes up. I got quotes varying from £450 to about £800. The cheapest quote was from norwich union so i went with them & so far they have been really good too.
