Your missing the transponder and chip from the donor car, the car WILL NOT work unless you get these from the donor car.
Unless... you go to Vauxhall and get a blank ECU which will cost you £££
BTW, the chip is inside the donor cars key, its about a centimetre long and looks like a magnet.

Well a wiring loom from vaux is £700 i was told by my local dealer (that was trade!)

the car is turning over tho. so will it be the imobiliser?
when i turn the car over all dash light come on including the engine managment light, it then starts to flash. when i try to start the car it turns over but does not start

Yes...an imobiliser cuts off the spark, or fuel, or both, hence immobilising the engine. Some cut off power all together

just want to be definate when i phon ethe guy up because i was told it didnt have one
at least i now know what the problem is and i just have to try sort it

If its a X16XE it will have a immobilser no matter what the bloke says.
Transponder around the ignition barrel and chip inside the key, thats all you need.
