Do it yourself, you must know what they do when they do an engine conversion. I.e remove old engine, fit new engine using existing mounts, custom driveshafts and hubs fitted etc...

engineers reports are easy to write up u need to break it down into sub categorites e.g engine mods then mods to the breaks to show what u have done is enough to stop the car and so on. some insurance companys are just happy to have a copy of a new mot. Some insurance companys might want to know what sort of qualifications within the motor trade the person writing this report has as to whether or not they will except it

I didn't need it after all too.

just had to fill in a modification proposal form about 30 questions.

Asked who fitted engine and qualifications but I left it blank as I don't know

Same for me, had a load of questions to fill in, i dont think they are fussed if you've had MOT's since it was fitted. Might be different if i put a LET in myself this weekend and asked for different insurance a few days later, they might want an engineers report then.
