The LSE gains confidence everyday... risky true but profitable all the same... if your feeling really brave you could even invest in a VCT company... Venture Capital Trust
Try http://www.bestinvest.co.uk
Its a well known site for investments

Never look to stocks for a short-term gain -- For long-term investment it's really difficult to argue against an index-tracker (FTSE 100 or FTSE All share).
To be honest you'd do much better to go and talk to a financial advisor considering the amount of money rather than take advice on CS

i'd stick it in a high interest savings accounts. With £50,000 you'd have a nice amount of Interest you could spend each month while keeping the actual wad safe until you really need it for something....

You can pay for all the lads to get a Blow Job!!!!
or you can put it down as a dep on 3 houses and get a buy to let morgage!! So the tenant pays the morgage for you!! As me dad did with his redundancy money! He retired at 40!!!!
Now sits at home making me cups of tea!!
