right well,

fitted my coscast head this weekend everything went to plan and it fitted all piped up no problems and then fired her up no worries ran like a bag of bolts at first then it idled perfectly at say 700-900rpm.

my old man took it for a test drive driving it seemed alot smoother no juddering (as if misfire ). all was fine then management light started coming up ???

so the car happily drove alog but management light was going off and on say every ten mins it would be on 3 times for 10 seconds each time, but there is no difference to the running of this engine ???

its obviously not something thats detrimental to the engine as the engine would shut its self down ??

Please Help

Have you checked that the ecu light isn't chaffing causing it to come one when it shouldn't?
Especially as it's not storing the faults (if any)

I too have the 20XE fitted in the corsa and also have the 16pin plug. Ive tried paperclip test as per that website (topbuzz?) but no joy, im sure they are wiered diffo. Only way is to break down the loom and tap the ECU light wire to earth to test properly but havent done that. It could be the Air mass meter/ air temp meter (if your on Moto 2.8 ignition), how tight are the wires for these sensors?

Is yours running a dizzy, if so I dont think you have one but its all in the trunking from std airbox to the air inlet (SFi Box on std 20XE's).

sounds like she is leaking air somewhere. check all air flow pipes to the throttle housing... check that you have no split hoses... are you running a powercap or ecotec pipe.... check everything there... is ur inlet manifold tighten.. all bolts. did u scrape all remains of gasket away. were the facings clean.. with the managment light on its good news as it will be summin simple.... start from the beginning, check spark, leads the right way, check the hall sensor, do a voltage test on that. also the coil.

a code from the ecu would be super handy lol. if it was running fine before you changed the head its summin you have done wrong or over looked.... just re trace ur steps so to speak.

yea going through this prcoess at the mo craig, everything should tight like it was all torqued when fitted.

changing the idle valve back to the old one after work, i know theres a little crack in a hose from the power cap to the idle valve but wheter theres a leak there or no im un known !!

if that was leaking air then the revs would be up and down.

there is a pipe which goes down the back right of the engine near the coolant tank from the throttle body i think. see if that is loose anywhere, mine came loose and it just cut out if you didnt keep revs up.
