Whats the recruitment structure like?
Got an interview there at 2 today, got recommended by the other Halfords outlet in Aberdeen
Other than not demanding to work on RipSpeed bit, what other tips are there?

I want to be made redundant so I can go part time and work there.
I won't leave until I am made redundant though, 6 years of service gonna be worth near 10k for me.

Don't bother. They are really bad employers. You will probably be better off in Motor world. Ripspeed is no different to any other dept there. You still have to sell wheel trims and seat covers to idiots. They really don't sell any performance products at all.

i've been at halfords for nearly 2 years now. The only thing that really annoys me with it, is that customers think we are all half-witt student bums who know nothing about cars. I admit some of my fellow workmates know piss all about cars, but there are a few of us who have a genuine interest and know there stuff. Apart from that it's ok !!

I worked there for 6 months about 4 years ok. It was ok, money wasnt great.
Worse was I was stuck on the "bike" section. Wanted to be on the audio section but there was no room.

mate work for your local offlicence
Bottoms Up or WineRack/Haddows etc etc
they pay £4.85 an hour, soon to go up.... but you get very flexible hours and 20% discount off booze
plus you meet tonnes of people only down point is that you have to work till 10pm

steve only reason u would work there is so u could be sorrounded by booze whilst working, i would give it a day before u were caught on cctv cracking open a crate of (insert beer here).
