right, this has annoyed me so much, its been doing it for 8 months. ARGH
whenever i hit a bump or anything i get a knocking noise. i reckon its defo coming from behind the dash behind the steering wheel area. its not the fuse box....its like theres something loose behind there, what could it be?????????????? makes my car sound like a nova.

steering coulom or bracket
heater pipes
heatermatrix
could be your wiper linkage or heater motor
go throu everything in that area and shake it about a bit

looked under the dash driver side and shaked EVERYTHING i could touch, took clocks out and again done the same. i cannot find this damn noise,
where is the heater matrix and heater motor located?

motor is under the scuttle
matrix is in the dash and i mean in the dash

the noise sounds abit like.....
if you were tapping a pen on metal pretty loudly though.
any ideas from that :S

Hard to say without hearing / feeling it. I'd guess either roll bar bush or steering knucle or similar.
Or is it more of a somethings loose sound lol ?
