I am getting a 1.4 16v engine to drop in my 1.0 12v corsa and i am wanting to do my own service before it goes in. What can i change as in oil filter etc?

i did oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, oil, plugs n leads.
its dead easy to do mate, jus need a socket set n a oil filter removal tool. took me about an hour.
make sure u have the right tool to remove the spark plugs n b VERY careful with the spark plugs cos if u crossthread ull be fucked!!

May aswell change timing belt, fit new inleft/outlet manifold gaskets, paint the engine, headgasket the list is endless

Why change all the gaskets if they are sealing fine at the moment

u dont do what i did hammer a screwdriver thru n use that as lever to twist it lose

second that with the screw driver. I serviced mine the other day and the oil filter was adamant it was not coming off, after wrestling with it for 20 mins I hammered a screw driver straight through the filter form underneath the car. then used it as a t bar to free the filter. sounds brutal but it works as a last resort. just watch the tread near the base of the filter.

Don't forget the water pump if your doing the cam belt

If you're doing clutch, while its off retrim seats in leather.

If you're gonna retrim the seats, whilst they're out, may as well replace the locking wheel nuts.
