how can you tell if your speedo is mechanical or electronic driven. Car was previously 1.4 Sport 1997/98 R Reg

Also does it all change when new engine is put in? or does the speedo driven part stay the same?

1 way of telling is to look at the sender on the gearbox, a cable driven one will have a cable, electric one will have a wire.

or pull out the clocks, if there is a cable then you guessed it....its cable.
