Just found this pic in brosters garage

Locking Wheel Nut

...and was wondering if ne1 else has hod this problem.

Broster - Were they from halfords??

Has ne1 had problems with nuts from halfords??

I have recently had a locking nut from halfords snap (this also broke the locking socket) and cost £20 to get the wheels off

Crimals actually voted Halfords own brand the hardest to remove last year........

LMAO - yeah it took a proffesional mechanic bout 40 mins to get the wheels off lol

u only meant to do them up lightly, people overtighten them

If the key to undo the nuts snaps, halfords can actually order you a replacement one in if u take the code either off the key or the nut (can't remember which part now) into the store with ya.

pmsl, some mechanic!

mine are mcguard ones, that pic above is when the key snapped inside and buggered it up, quick trip o my local garage and they soon had it off.

Of course they'll say that!! It's because they're the EASIEST to remove

I've taken a set of Halfords locking nuts off without the key - screwdriver and a hammer. Plus the keys snap very easily.

My Halfords key was the type with four pegs. Two of the pegs snapped and another had a hairline crack.

i have the mcguard ones, and the key did that to me as well,
i send the old one back to Austria and they posted me a new one, it came in one week from Austria

I had some mcguard ones but shitreon complained because they couldn't get the wheels off when they serviced the car so i ended up getting some shitroen ones

I had a mcguard set and the bit inside snapped like on brosters.
Just hammered it on to the alst one and got it off then bought another set of mcguard. And am going to send the slip off to get a replacement asap so i have two lying about
