i got a astra 2.0 sri 1998, its got alot of engine mods but a standard filter anyway i took the filter off last night to clean it it and i forgot to put the lid clips back in place and then the engine management light came on so i clipped them back and its still on.
WHY? please help i dont want local garages conning me saying it needs this and that!

i doubt that not clipping the lid down properly would cause the ecu light to come on.when you say you cleaned the filter did you happen to try and clean the air flow meter?if so i think this may be the problem as the dont respond well to being cleaned
