after looking into prices for my c16xe engine i think it will be easier to put a 2ltr in it instead but what car do i buy for the engine? and has anyone got a list of what parts i will need to buy to fit the engine in? thanx for all the help.

Cavalier mk3/mk4, astra mk2, calibra has these engines
try a company called http://www.lmfvauxhall.com
they sell the conversion kits from m-tech, that have everthing you need for this conversion.

wats the engine code for the red top is it c20xe? wats kinda price will i be looking at for a engine?

the first ones had c20xe's, then they went to x20xev, and finally x18xe

E-bay full of XE's atm, but be careful there are unfortunately dishonest ppl on there

E plate onwards astra GTE 16v
First ones had coscast heads
Then Cav GSI 2000 and 2000 4wd, up to J plate,
then cav sri from J plate to L plate had 2.0 EX (red top)
From H to M the calibra 16v had a red top,
the later ones, (L onward) have distributorless ingnition packs ( featured on very last cav GSi's as well)
coscast heads:
fitted to early astra GTE 16v's E and F plate. Very rare, VIRTUALLY never go pourous unlike normal c 20 XE ones. Very slightly modded to give early GTE's the 156 bhp figure.
