Right i know that you can trick the ecu into thinking the egr is ok with a resistor, tho it looks tricky getting round to the valve to get a value for it.

So can anyone save me some hassle and tell me the value of the resistor i need?

(i have the valve blocked off so i aint buying a new one before someone says)

cheers

if its blocked off properly you dont need a resistor.

Can you not clean it then block it off? might not bother the ECU that way.

Mine fixed itself not been on for ages

tried that, when i had the engine rebuilt but didn't work, i'm not shelling out the kinda of money egr valves cost for something thats blocked off. guess i'll just have to do it the hard way

I don't think that the egr (on a corsa) can be exchanged with a resistor.
I speak for the one that can be finded in the 14XE and 16XE... I've done some experiments... The egr have a linear potentiometer, and is a solenoid controlled by a pwm voltage (the ecu provide the signal). So, when the ecu send a signal to the egr (for example a 20% duty cycle), know where the potentiometer connected to the solenoid would have to be... No resistor can made this!
I have fooled the ecu connecting a second valve in air :->
Probably a blanking plate is the best way to invalidate the function of the egr...
